    The transformer is blocking proper service clearance to the piping.

    Transformers should never be installed in pipe chases.

    The heat from the transformer is providing "free-heating" economizer heat to the adjacent hot water piping.

    Code required service clearances must be maintained on all electrical equipment to allow a safe working space for service technicians. In addition, the ability to replace system components is crucial in designing and installing a serviceable electrical system.
