The possible responses are listed below, with the correct response in bold.

Notches should be provided in the fire damper to allow it to close around the electrical power wiring in the event of a fire.

The communication cabling should be plenum rated where it passes through the return air ductwork.

All wiring running through return air ducts should be installed in conduit.

The box should be leaned up against the top of the return duct to allow proper operation of the fire damper.
Return ductwork and fire dampers must remain clear of all obstructions to insure proper operation. Allowing the use of the return system as a path for power and communication wiring can lead to poor return air flow and dangerous compromises in the life safety system components in the building.
